islands are off and quiet,
the Lighthouse is lit and beating,
the opposite coast is all a throb of vibrant lights,
a cruise ship goes slowly and majestic through the gulf,
in the sky ripped clouds are sailing, stars indicate the way to the moon.
But my love is far away:
just before sunset his white sail voyaged between the Islands
without even a greeting for me.
And I don’t know the reason.
His sail is white, white my soul too,
without him all is white,
‘cause my love for him makes me forget the beauty of sky,
‘cause my love for him makes me forget sunset’s colors.
White and far away,
my love’s sail,
white and far away,
White lost sail
by night, into the sea.
